Dr. Zamir Dedej
Zamir Dedej, born on 4 August 1966 in Tirana, is graduated as biologist at the University of Tirana in 1989, having a Master degree in 1998 and a PhD for marine ecology in the year 2006. He worked at the Institute of Biological Research (Albanian Academy of Sciences) as a marine biologist until 1998 for 9 years (with study experiences in Italy and Israel), other 9 years (1998-2007) as the Nature Protection Director at the Ministry of Environment, from 2008-2014 was directing an NGO named Institute of Nature Protection in Albania (INCA), from February 2015 appointed as General Director of the firstly established National Agency for Protected Areas until March 2022, and at the moment is the Administrator of iGreen Partners (iGP) consulting company and work as freelance expert. In his working positions out of management task he was covering the issue of environmental in general, with emphasizes for nature conservation, biodiversity, protected areas, wetland, as well as marine and water resources management, being one of the national qualified experts in the environmental policy in the country and region. Lastly he is working with the circular economy and green transition process.
