Administrator, Biodiversity Expert

Dr. Zamir Dedej

Zamir Dedej, born on 4 August 1966 in Tirana, is graduated as biologist at the University of Tirana in 1989, having a Master degree in 1998 and a PhD for marine ecology in the year 2006. He worked at the Institute of Biological Research (Albanian Academy of Sciences) as a marine biologist until 1998 for 9 years (with study experiences in Italy and Israel), other 9 years (1998-2007) as the Nature Protection Director at the Ministry of Environment, from 2008-2014 was directing an NGO named Institute of Nature Protection in Albania (INCA), from February 2015 appointed as General Director of the firstly established National Agency for Protected Areas until March 2022, and at the moment is the Administrator of iGreen Partners (iGP) consulting company and work as freelance expert. In his working positions out of management task he was covering the issue of environmental in general, with emphasizes for nature conservation, biodiversity, protected areas, wetland, as well as marine and water resources management, being one of the national qualified experts in the environmental policy in the country and region. Lastly he is working with the circular economy and green transition process.

Expert in energy efficiency and renewable energy

Gjergji Simaku

With a 40-year working experience in the field of energy. At first he served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering and later at Polis University. He has exercised his skills as a freelance expert but also in private business, and also with important duties in state institutions. He headed the National Energy Agency for three years, Director of Policies and Strategies for the Development of Industry and Energy in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, and recently in the position of Deputy Minister. Today he works as one of the best experts in the field of energies with emphasize to renewable and energy efficiency.

Expert on agricultural issues and property rights

Llazar Korra

Graduated at the Agricultural University, he had two study experiences in the USA where he also received a Master of Science degree. For 7 years he served as chief agronomist, then specialist in the High Control of the State and for two years as Deputy Minister of Agriculture. Later he worked as the Director of the Directorate of Agricultural Policies and part of the USAID project for the registration of real estate and for 22 years he served at the European Delegation in Tirana as a program manager in several sectors such as veterinary medicine, food security and fishing (2000 - 2021), agriculture and rural development (2000-2014), environment (2000-2009), regional development and cultural heritage (2006-2010). Today, as an independent expert, he contributes to agriculture, veterinary and food safety projects.

Expert on circular economy and waste management

Eduart Cani

He graduated in Biology (2000) and received a Master's degree in the field of Genetics and Biotechnology (2007). For 18 years (2000-2018) he contributed as project manager and expert for fund raising and communication at the Regional Environmental Center (REC). He served for two years as the national coordinator of the GIZ program for the three lake basins in Albania and from 2020 as a consultant in the issues of waste management, water management, climate change, DRR, FRM, institutional construction, project development, etc. There have been experiences in organizing public hearings, organizing large-scale focused campaigns for planning and urban development, etc. He has led the national process (with line ministries) of analyzing and preparing national reports on various topics of environmental governance, such as urban waste, water and wastewater, climate change. Has knowledge of governmental and local policies on environmental issues, participation in processes and incentives for actors and companies.

Expert for infrastructure, transport, energy, EIA/EIA

Ledina Gjiknuri

Graduated from Empire State College and New York College (Greece) in 2004 for International Relations, she completed her Master's degree in Business Administration at Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch (Switzerland). She worked until 2020 at the Ministry of European Integration and later as an freelance expert. With about 20 years of work experience, he has professional experience as a consultant, trainer, evaluator for various programs/projects, in the fields of public policies, local and regional development, the involvement of interested parties and the development of institutional capacities both at the central and regional level. as well as local within the EU integration; more specifically in the field of implementation of the Pre-membership Instrument (IPA) in planning, programming and drafting relevant documents; experience with a large number of infrastructure projects (transport, energy, digital infrastructure and environment); experience with planning and organizing formal stakeholder consultations for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (SEA) for energy, environmental and transport infrastructure projects; experience in the preparation of strategic/programming documents, including social and economic analyzes for operational programs, regional development strategies, as well as social impact assessments (SIA); experience in the cooperation and involvement of CSOs in policy making, especially in conducting consultation processes for infrastructure projects. He has good operational knowledge and practical experience with the Albanian public administration, providing training/mentoring both at the central and local level

Expert on European Integration and the Environment

Rrezart Kapedani

He graduated in Biology (2001) and received a Master's degree in Aquaculture (2005), working with the fisheries project at first and then as part of the Ministry's Fisheries Directorate (2001- 2010). For another 8 years (2010-2018) he contributed as project manager and expert for biodiversity and civil society at the Regional Environment Center (REC). Later he worked as an expert at the CIHAM Bari intergovernmental organization project, and recently for 3 years as Deputy Director in the project for European integration that supports the ministry responsible for the environment. He started as a fisheries/biodiversity expert and later dedicated himself to project management and European integration, today he has an experience and dedication to work that makes him one of the specialists in the field.

Expert on social issues (including gender issues)

Ines Leskaj:

Graduated from the "Social Work" branch of the University of Tirana in 2003, she is doing postgraduate studies in "Leadership and Career Management" at the Mediterranean University. She started working as a specialist and then head of the "Vatra" psycho-social center in Vlora (2004- 2006) and later as a specialist/local coordinator of a USAID project on human trafficking (2006- 2009). Then for two years she served as a consultant/trainer, project writer and Project Coordinator at the Albanian National Training and Technical Assistance Resource Center (ANTTARC). Since 2011, she leads the Network for the Empowerment of Women in Albania, as an independent non- profit organization, which includes 9 women's organizations throughout the country.

Communication and PR expert

Edlira Prendi

She has a career of over 18 years in the field of media and communication. He studied Journalism at the University of Tirana and holds an MSc in Public Relations and a Professional Master in Political Science. The professional commitment starts in the written media in 2006 with the Korrieri newspaper to be followed further with the visual media at RTV Ora News and then at Vizion Plus Television. Since 2013, she has been engaged in the field of public relations and communication. She has held the position of communications advisor in two of the most important state institutions (Ministry of Defense and Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs 2013-2019). Her career continues as an advisor to the Audiovisual Media Authority, gaining knowledge on media regulation and oversight, challenges and issues facing the media. She is currently engaged at the Faculty of Defense and Security at the Academy of the Armed Forces as a Communication Teacher, as well as working as a freelance expert in Strategic Communications (drafting PR strategies, their implementation and monitoring, ideation and management of communication campaigns in social networks, promotional videos and documentaries, promotional videos and materials) and Project Management.

Partners and Collaborators

In February 2023, iGP signed a partnership contract with the German company GFA Consulting Group, one of the largest German companies, for cooperating to increase its presence in the region through their offices in Tirana and the implementation of projects. The areas of cooperation are the environment, energy, agriculture, water and wastewater, waste, circular economy, health, etc. This makes possible the stability and continuous growth of the services we offer.

In May 2023, the iGP company and the Agricultural University signed a Cooperation Agreement for areas of mutual interest, in providing consultancy and participating in joint activities. This will find application both in the design of joint projects but also with the possibility of engaging/ employing mutual staff in projects.
